ABOUT FRASIS
- Frasis is a programme set up by the Ministry of Culture and Sports and the National Book Centre of Greece. It sponsors the publication abroad, in high quality translations, of notable works that reflect the diversity of Greek publishing.
- The National Book Centre of Greece (EKEBI) is responsible for administering the programme.
- Frasis subsidises the translation of classical and contemporary works that, once translated, will help make the Greek cultural heritage better known.
- Frasis covers a wide range of genres such as fiction, poetry, essays, human sciences, philosophy, history, archaeology, drama, literature for young children and teenagers, religion, psychology, personal testimony and chronicles, biography, anthologies, illustrated volumes, comics, gastronomy, ecology-environment, music and applied sciences.
- Grants are exclusively for the cost of translation, of which they cover the full cost (100%).
